The negotiating period is likely to be extended so that the deal can go through with appropriate evaluation and diligence from both the sides. MTN operates in 21 countries, the growth in the subscriber base has been 53% last calender year. Fitch rating indicates that there can still be much more growth due to the lower penetration in the markets it operates.
Mukesh Ambani has indicated that under the family pact,group has first right to refusal for acquiring Reliance Communications which has created the fued. Amidst all this, the restructuring of the deal may see it going through.
